Challenges
Rapid growth made it cumbersome to keep pace with change.
Needed to improve its SDLC practices.
Sought a global partner with deep software engineering expertise.

Rapidly growing demand for its solutions resulted in double-digit growth for FinQuery across its client base, employees, and infrastructure—making it cumbersome to keep pace with change. Leadership looked at a range of options to help improve SDLC practices and its development teams, including growing the company’s in-house team as well as augmenting with onshore and offshore contractors. FinQuery sought a trusted partner to help achieve its objectives. Ideally, the company wanted a partner with deep software engineering expertise and a strong presence across Europe and in other key regions worldwide. As such, FinQuery turned to digital innovation firm Devtech.

Upskilling and knowledge transfer at the heart of the partnership

Devtech collaborated with FinQuery on a number of projects, with an emphasis on upskilling and knowledge transfer. The Devtech team helped FinQuery get a new infrastructure as code implementation off the ground and migrated existing infrastructure to a new automation system for deployment management. Devtech, together with FinQuery’s existing DevOps team, ultimately provided delivery excellence to solve real challenges and explore possibilities. Together, the team created a new environment as a testing ground for infrastructure automation and CI/CD for the company’s suite of products from development to QA to production. Work included using Terraform, an open-source infrastructure-as-code software tool that enables teams to safely and predictably create, change, and improve infrastructure. Jointly, the teams consolidated product deployment pipelines by using engineering best practices and modern infrastructure as a code approach. This provided a unified build and deployment process with a centralized artifact repository for all environments.

Automation and CI/CD Pipeline

Devtech helped FinQuery move towards automating the product release schedule and CI/CD pipeline. Internal development teams within FinQuery may take over complete responsibility and ownership of their respective development and test environments, which will help the entire company scale. Ultimately, Devtech helped FinQuery create a new automation server that will help the company deploy all of its applications with a magical push of a button. Devtech has become a true technology partner to FinQuery. Teams continue to operate with a collaborative style built on mutual respect—and FinQuery continues to innovate for the future.
